In this terrific video guide Aly takes us on a complete tour of the Ellis Island Casino, Hotel and Brewery. The venue is located at 4250 Koval Ln, Las Vegas, it’s just a 5 minute walk east from Bally’s and the Flamingo casino, or a brisk 10 minutes to an easy 15 minutes walk from the Bellagio Hotel. Or just grab a taxi or a rideshare which will be less than $10 from most locations on the strip to Ellis Island or vice a versa.

Ellis Island is so, so close to the strip but it’s not on the tourist trap tour list and this is what makes it a very good place to visit to eat, drink or play. Ellis Casino is a bit of a locals venue so it has a friendly vibe about it plus cheap Charlies locals prices on the food and drinks. No pesky tourists allowed here – just kidding!

Ellis Island Rooms

The rooms at Ellis Island are not flashy by any means, but they are clean with big comfy beds, toiletry’s, a capsule coffee maker, free bottles of water and a real fridge to stock with your own drinks and food – plus a 7-11 is right next door. No smart fridges here – yay! The room rates midweek are only about $75.00 including the resort fee for a night plus early check in is only $10. So with these rates and being so close to the strip it’s well worth staying here.

Aly mentions that the rooms are actually better than the ones at the Paris Hotel, so if you come to Vegas to see Vegas and not the insides of a room Ellis Island is a good option with nice views also from most rooms. If you drive here you also going to park free of charge, many hotels on the Vegas Strip will charge $20 or more per 24 hours even for guests.

Ellis Island Food and Drinks

The steak special with soup and salad for $9.99 is just fabulous and this is just one good reason of many to visit Ellis Islands restaurant called the Village Pub and Cafe. Other deals available like an all day breakfast for only $9.99 is impossible to beat so close to the strip area. The highly popular prime rib and fish n’ chips are well worth considering also.

Ellis Island have their own brewery and the main bar area is called The Front Yard which has tasty craft beers flowing off the taps for just a WTF! $4.00 which is a cracker deal. The Front Yard is quite a large venue with seating for 350 people, they have all the big sports matches showing on HD TV’s.

The food menu at the Front Yard is also extensive with incredible pizzas, pastas, great burgers, seafood, ribs and more options – food is very well priced and available too late at night. Game days are very busy so you may have to reserve seats.

Ellis Island Gambling

You will find the casino floor small but adequate with all the latest and most loved slots, many people have mentioned the slots are quite loose at Ellis Island. They also have $5 craps tables and $5 blackjack tables with 3:2 payouts which is yet another reason to visit, you will likely not find any casinos with 3:2 blackjack tables in the Vegas strip area. It can be so dam hard even if you a pro player to win on the 6:5 blackjack tables.

Ellis Island has a full service William Hill sports book for a bet on most sports or the horses. The casino does lot’s of daily giveaways and promotions with a generous players rewards program plus the casino is open 24/7.

Ellis Island Summing Up

Overall Ellis Island is a fabulous place to visit for a beer, sports watching, food or gambling. They have many great ratings on Tripadvisor and are an award winning venue.

You can get some respite from the high costs of the strip venues here. One of my own personal favourite places to visit when in Vegas – see you there!
