JV is playing Blackjack poolside at the awesome Red Rock Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. He plays 6 deck Blackjack outside on a $50 to $250 high limit table. As JV said he was invited to play here but he recommends to only play on a 3:2 payout table and not a 6:5 payout table like the one he played on and lost at.
3 to 2 vs 6 to 5 blackjack explained
- In the 3:2 blackjack game, the casino house edge if the player plays perfect basic strategy for every hand is about ~0.5%. Yes in theory you will still lose in the end unless you get some luck or your a pro player.
- So for every $100 you bet in 3:2 blackjack, the casino takes in an average of $0.50. But with 6:5 blackjack the casino edge shoots up to about 2% which is almost 4 x that of 3:2 blackjack.
- So obviously the 6:5 blackjack game is way better for the casino, the problem is though 6:5 tables are way more common in casinos these days so good luck finding a 3:2 table. But we do know of a casino just off the strip that has 3:2 tables available.
